Do most places at the ports speak English?

Recommended Posts

We are staying in Barcelona before and after our cruise right on Las Ramblas.

Will there be alot of people who work in that area and the airport speak English?

We are not setting up hotel and transportation through the cruise line because its a third of the cost. we also want to wonder and go to restaurants.

How about the ports in Italy? Im tring to learn some Italian by Nov.

thanks

Brenda

most places speak english. On Las Ramblas, DH tried to buy a lottery ticket and they were claiming to not understand him but we didn't have a problem anywhere else. Just try and learn a few words, especially greetings and thank you. It goes a long way.
