Touring Alaska

We just came back from a cruise and were thinking that next year we'd like to maybe just fly into Anchorage, rent a car and see some of Alaska.

Can you drive to Whittier...we thought we might take a day cruise..also, how long would it take to drive to Denali?

What would be a good itinerary for 6 or 7 days?

Yes, you can drive to Whittier. Takes 1 hour 15 min. plus tunnel time.

 

Allow 6 hours with stops each way Anchorage/Denali park. Then you need 2 nights there.

 

As a sample itineray, head south to Seward for a couple days, stop in Whittier along the way. Then head north to Denali park, that's 4 days, add perhaps 2 nights in Anchorage, split and a night in Talkeetna?
