rritter6 Posted June 10, 2007 #1 Share Posted June 10, 2007 I'm on a budget but would like to do one really nice excursion while on the Spirit southbound in August. I am looking for the best "bang for my buck" and am looking for suggestions. I have done some whale watching in the past, so any other suggestions would be appreciated! How about a helicopter ride and landing on a glacier. If you want to go a little cheaper, try a fixed wing flight on board a sea plane that takes off from the bay and flies over the glacier. hillbilly cruiser Posted June 10, 2007 #3 Share Posted June 10, 2007 I second that on the helicopter to the glacier. Did in 2000 and will never forget it.

My vote is for Taku Lodge Flight & Feast out of Juneau. You should be able to book it through the ship or direct with vender. http://www.takuglacierlodge.com/taku-lodge-glacier-flight.html Also if you look at my pictures from last year, you'll see the fabulous scenery we saw and the delicious salmon we had!:) Just ask if you have any questions!
