warmwinds Posted June 14, 2007 #1 Share Posted June 14, 2007 Has anyone used Celebrity's transfers from London to Harwich? I specifically would like to know how they handle the baggage...once you put it on the coach, do you not see it again until it shows up in your stateroom? Or when you get to Harwich, do you have to claim it from the coach, find a porter, etc.? If you left from central London (as opposed to an airport), was it easy to find the correct location at Victoria Coach Station?
Petert Posted June 15, 2007 #2 Share Posted June 15, 2007 Hi Warmwinds, We used the RCI transfers from Heathrow to Harwich, and there were stevedors in the immediate vicinity of bus drop off point. We just grabbed our checked bags from the bus and handed them, with a couple of pound notes, to the stevedore. The Victoria Station is a very large area, and the bus depot should be easy to locate, but may involve some walking. The bus takes considerable time to get to Harwich, and the train is a much more comfortable and shorter ride. The trains for Harwich leave from London Liverpool Station on a fairly regular schedules, with a boat train on sailing days that goes directly to the cruise terminal. The regular train requires a change of trains (from the same platform) to get to Harwich city, and a short taxi ride to the cruise terminal. You can get the rail fares (about $30) and schedule on line at the National Rail site. Petert
