Replace Johnny Rockets with In-n-Out burger

Recommended Posts

OMG! In & Out are the best!!!!! Double Double with grilled onions, large lemonade and fries (I like 'em soft) any day of the week.

Tommy's is the best chilli burger around. Speaks to you for hours!!!!

But don't forget our beloved Cupid dogs. Now that's a Valley thing!

LMBO ;) :D

PH, In-n-Out does have wonderful hamburgers and when fresh, the frys are really good as well. Perhaps you should plan a trip to the west coast! :) I'll volunteer to be your tour guide!

###

I'll be sure to take you up on that offer when and if the time comes........

I haven't read past your post here, so someone else may have talked about BY burgers. My husband "discovered" Backyard Burgers recently waaaay across town where he works. He just loves it. He's taken me there for lunch now a couple of times, and I must say, the burgers ARE very very good. Aside from being so tasty, one thing I like is they aren't those gi-normeous, big as your head, things. It's just a "normal" size burger. I wish they would open one up here closer to where we live. Try it out when it opens; if you're a burger fan, you'll probably love it.
My husband has had BY burgers somewhere else..........when he saw it going up,he got all excited......he loved them...so we'll see when I get across town to try them....

OK, I've only read till here, so excuse me if anyone has suggested this yet.

How about an In-N-Out on the Mariner when it gets to the West Coast :D

Greedy,greedy West Coasters...;)

We truly ARE the last ones to get everything here! If I see ONE more Sonic commercial I'm going to scream!! Where is there a Sonic around here? I'd really like to know because their slushy things look really yummy.

As for the OP question, I'm a vegetarian so I like that JR has the Streamliner (veggie burger) but uh, Burger King has a better veggie burger. Everytime I eat Johnny Rockets I feel like I'm going to die soon after, so I'd pretty much replace it with ANYTHING. We have one in the casino that I work in - whenever I pass by it I get a little queasy.

Laura

Thats right I forgot there is a JR in Mohegan Sun. I am in Stratford , but we occasionally hit the casinos now and then.

Yea , those Sonic shakes and slurpee things look so good, and all the flavors they make :) :)

I'll bet the burger patty at Johnny Rockets is the same one they cook down by the pool.

I dont recall any pool burgers??Unless you mean the WJ and if so, they dont look the same to me....the ones in JRs are a bit thicker...

Went to visit my brother in San Jose a few years back and then visited his inlaws in Bakersfield (or should I say Bakersneck...redneck..lol) went to IN and Out twice that day...good Lord when we were quiet we could hear our arteries hardening. I wanted to bring back In and Out burgers and fries home....Orignially born and raised sixth generation far left extremely (yuk) liberal Vermont...Moved to Florida in 94. Vermont and Florida both have no market for Burgers for sure....No JR's or In and OUT here...just the same ol same ol wendy's McD, and Burger King...yuk!!!! There is one guy on US 1 in Melbourne Florida called Burger INN.....to die for...

Live in Az too. Now have In and Out Burgers all over. Before only had in Ca.

Fries are not crisp at all. We really don't like the fries. It's a shame since they are freshly made that they are not crispier, would be sooo good.

The hamburger patty is very small. ("Where's the beef ? ") Like the sauce and crisp bun. We do eat them once in a while because they are different.

Now perhaps I am incorrect but can you really compare JR and In and Out Burger hamburgers?

We had a friend who used to work at an In and Out a long time ago and he gave us lots of tips on ordering. One of those tips was ordering the fries extra crispy. It's the only way we eat the fries now. love them along with my double double animal and protien style cheese burger.

We have In and Out burger here in AZ. The burgers are Ok and the shakes are really really good but the fries are horrible (limp) so I pass the place by. I've never had JR so I cannot compare but I would like to know about their fries. If they are not nice and crispy I would pass them by as well.

Something tells me I should read this long, long thread first, but...

I like the fries as they are. You can order them well done if you like them more cooked--that is the way my wife orders them.

We prefer the burgers in the Windjammer to the ones in Johnny Rockets. Plus they don't cost me anything extra.

In-n-Out...

Burgers: Good

Shakes: Excellent

Fries: Only okay (I skip those so I can have the shake)

OTOH, we don't go out of our way for them. They're kind of a "traveling to visit family out of town, let's stop at an In-n-Out somewhere along the way" kind of thing. If we're going to have burgers at home, either I cook them or we go to the local hole-in-the-wall burger joint, which is definitely "heart attack on a plate," so we do that only a few times a year.

We ate at JR on Mariner (once with C&A coupons). It was okay. The turkey burger was surprisingly juicy, the shakes were pretty tasty, and the onion rings were pretty good. But the Sea View on the Radiance class is better (IMO).

Yep, I reiterate: "Order your fries WELL DONE" and you will never look back !! :)

There's something about hot, crunchy, crispy, slightly-salted french fries that just makes some grown people weep !! :D

Now, if In-and-Out Burgers would only start making onion rings.....YUM!! :D

I live in Wisconsin and there are no In and Out Burgers here but when we go to Las Vegas In and Out Burger is always a place we stop...several times. First discovered them last year in Vegas. We are going to Vegas again in July and we are definatley eating there. YUM!!! Never had JR's so I can't compare.

There's a place in Gand Haven, MI called, Ray's. They have the best fries in the world. Yes, really. Anyone who has been there agrees. Too bad it's not a chain, but then it would not be nearly as good.

I've had the burgers at JR's and the ones in the Windjammer on the same ship, same day. They aren't the same. Again, don't care one way or the other about JR's, but do want to point that out.

I'm suprised no one has brought up Steak & Shake yet. Not that the burgers are that incredible but the shakes are about 100 times better that the JR's on the ships. I've never had In & Out or Sonic so I can't comment but White Castle's are great if you've been drinking.

That is so true about those little "Mom and Pop" type places being so good . We have a place here is Connecticut called "Tomlinsons" . Known to everyone in the area as "The Greeks" because of the family who owned and operated the place. This place literally could have been the inspiration for the place in the skit on SNL "Cheeseburg, 2 Dog ,Fry , Pepsi, pepsi *LOL*

It started out as a concession stand at the beach in the 30's , then they bought a place in town. It was literally about the size of a trailer with a screened in porch. No table, you literally opened the door of the screened in porch area stood in line placed your order and walked out the other door. if 10 people could stand in line in that porch you were lucky. You could never go by there and the line wasn't a mile long. In fact it was a well known joke in our town about being at that point in the line where you were half in and half out and you were holding the door open *LOL* and for 60 years all they served were hot dogs , burgers, fries, rings, shakes THATS IT!!!. They were the best. Their Chili dogs were legendary. The fries and rings were made fresh all day long.

About 5 years ago they knocked down the trailer and put up a nice sit down restaurant with a drive through and now the serve breakfast and wraps, and salads , and fish dinners, Jalapeno poppers and all that stuff.

The quality went way down and now everything is frozen mass produced crap.

Steak and Shake is also a favorite of mine. We have quite a few here in the metro Atlanta area.
