Cinderellie Posted April 18, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 18, 2004 Hello there. Visiting my 2nd time in the beautiful city of NOLA. This time I am visiting just before Labor Day in September -- the 8/29 Conquest sailing. What's the weather like? Storm probability? Anyone taken this late summer cruise before -- if so, what was the weather like in Cayman, Jamaica, Cozumel? What were the seas like? wwinfl91 Posted April 18, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 18, 2004 A short answer for all of them would be: HOT HOT HOT and especially for New Orleans Hot and Humid. That doesn't mean it isn't a great place to visit but we have been there a number of times in summer and I will almost guarantee it will be in high 80's to low 90's and it will be humid. We live in Florida and the additional humidity in New Orleans always affects us. You also have to be prepared for afternoon thunderstorms so a small travel umbrella is a good idea. An even better one is to find a air-conditioned bar and have a cool one until the storm lets up. Have a GREAT next cruise. Cotton Posted April 19, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 19, 2004 Hi. I answered this question for you on another post, but don't remember which one. HOTHOTHOTHOTHOTHOTHOT and HUMID! If you're in the Quarter, remember it's like being in the bottom of a bowl (we're below sea level, y'know), and it's really hot and humid - no breeze whatsoever unless you're standing by the river, and not much there either. I love my city - born and raised there - but I still hate the humidity and heat. Can be almost stifling at times. Keep movin'...Just don't stand in one place very long, you'll melt!
