Sandi149 Posted June 22, 2007 #2 Share Posted June 22, 2007 You don't say which ship.....but I was right near the elevators on my Miracle cruise and I didn't hear one sound. Actually we barely heard any sounds in the halls. I liked that location....very convenient.
MilliesMom Posted June 22, 2007 #3 Share Posted June 22, 2007 We are booking a cruise for a group of friends...how noisy are the rooms that are near elevators? In April, we were in a balcony cabin (6194) on the Empress Deck of the Spirit. It is just a few feet away from the glass elevators and 4 regular elevators too. We only heard people 1 night and that was only because the kids decided to run up and down the hallways. It wouldn't of mattered which cabin, you would of heard them. We've never found being by the elevators a problem or noisy.
nannerrt Posted June 22, 2007 Author #4 Share Posted June 22, 2007 Good. Thanks for the info...we have only been on one cruise and that was back in 1994. It seemed that the thrusters were so loud each morning that we were up at the crack of dawn each day we docked. Can you hear those everywhere or is it just the lower decks? gizfish Posted June 22, 2007 #5 Share Posted June 22, 2007 We had a cabin right near the elevators on the legend. The ship is laid out as to make those cabins probably even quieter than the cabins elsewhere. There is a separate corridor for the cabins that are near the elevator that not only blocks elevator noise, but is also less trafficked since only people in those cabins would be walking there. jetertorre Posted June 22, 2007 #7 Share Posted June 22, 2007 We are booking a cruise for a group of friends on the Legend...how noisy are the rooms that are near elevators? Elevators and the ship in general aren't usually a problem. Now.... unattended (undisciplined) children running up and down the halls screaming and yelling at 1am is another matter.

scperk Posted June 23, 2007 #9 Share Posted June 23, 2007 sometimes you can hear the elevators ding when they stop at your floor...We usually try to get a room that is not above or below a public deck because you will sometimes hear noise from casinos or bars or crew moving chairs early in the morning,.....Dennis
Cotton Posted June 23, 2007 #10 Share Posted June 23, 2007 Not realizing I would feel closed in, I once booked an inside cabin (never again)...but it backed up to an elevator. I never heard a single noise from it. Sometimes, the folks getting on/off were a bit loud, but not the elevator itself.;)
