Donna - dsw Posted June 28, 2007 #26 Share Posted June 28, 2007 We are sailing on the Glory in Sept. in room 7375 - I was told this was a sofa bed that also folds out to a single. I was told the room steward will make it up / down every day. Please let me know is anyone knows differet. Thanks!
Wennfred Posted June 28, 2007 #27 Share Posted June 28, 2007 The sales rep actually looked up our room number and said that yes it is a sofabed which is a bed that folds out from the couch. Never seen a Sofa Bed that folds out. They just remove the 2 back cushions and they go on the floor. They make the bed up and keep it made up the rest of the cruise. My Sister-in-law slept well, never a complaint. Read post number 19, Sandi149 posted: Also, there are drawers under it for extra storage. Its not a pull out, its drawers. Thanks for posting. This is a different style than what has mostly been reported. Ecstasy is a refurb'd fantasy class ship (I think) What was the comfort of this pull out sectional type of sofabed? Peaceful Posted June 29, 2007 #30 Share Posted June 29, 2007 I had to look through some saved files, but here is a picture of our sofa bed made up from the Inspiration in May 2006. Don't know if the refurb will change these, but I believe this is typical.
Cruisetrio Posted June 29, 2007 #31 Share Posted June 29, 2007 Hmmm. Thanks for posting. This is a different style than what has mostly been reported. Ecstasy is a refurb'd fantasy class ship (I think) What was the comfort of this pull out sectional type of sofabed? Quite comfy and they made it up with the new CCL bedding...duvet, etc. The only issue was that once it was out, it was out for the whole cruise because I guess it was a real pain to fold back up everyday and apparently there was some special tool needed. Not too bad because even with the extra bed out, still plenty of room along with the divider curtain. Yes, Ecstasy has been refurbished as part of the post-Katrina housing effort. The rooms look great and we were surprised by the size of the cat 12 on that ship

BillnBobbi Posted July 3, 2007 #33 Share Posted July 3, 2007 The sofa doesn't really convert into a bed....the steward puts sheets and blankets on it and voila! a single bed. My gd preferred it on Liberty. She said it was very comfortable. It will be comfortable for a child or a very light adult. When we travel as only two, we find we wind up using that piece of furniture to pile all of our junk on. As I'm sure with many others, we try to maintain a modicum of neatness in our cabin, but by around day 3 it becomes a lost cause. The sofa bed then becomes an all purpose area for all of the flyers, brochures, travel guides, damp bathing suits, T-shirts that might pass for one more wearing, etc. At home, our stationary bike serves the same purpose. :-)

Darlipoo Posted July 3, 2007 #36 Share Posted July 3, 2007 Our confirmation for a Cat 11 suite on the Elation said it had a "sofa bed". But it looked NOTHING like pictures on this post. It was a settee. No cushions came off the back. You would have to be under 5 ft to fit and it was not comfortable like the beds pictured above. serene56 Posted July 3, 2007 #37 Share Posted July 3, 2007 The sofa in the suites on the fantasy class ships are so completly different from any other class of ship. The above photo of the sofa bed will be whats in most cabins. But not all sofas convert into a sofa-- some are smaller lovetype sofa.
thoneycu Posted July 3, 2007 #38 Share Posted July 3, 2007 Thanks Serene! We are on the Conquest in 12 days, I hope this is our set-up.
serene56 Posted July 3, 2007 #39 Share Posted July 3, 2007 Thanks Serene! We are on the Conquest in 12 days, I hope this is our set-up. You can check the deck plans and read the legend of symbols to the exact bedding in the cabin. You will be looking for square in the cabin number which will denote 2 beds on the floor and an upper bed with a covertible sofa bed.
