Bed and Breakfast Farmstay

I did a search and find nothing about this. We are working with a company planning a pre cruise land trip in Australia. Port Douglas with snorkeling and the rainforest and then instead of Ayer's Rock a stay at a working cattle ranch outside of Brisbane was suggested. It is a bed and breakfast and sounds interesting to us. Out in the bush - horseback riding - walks, normal ranch activities in a beautiful setting. Apparently we would see kangaroos out in the wild etc. Has anyone done anything like this or heard about it.
