WEDINDISNEY Posted August 16, 2004 #1 Share Posted August 16, 2004 This will be our first time in Grand Cayman and I was wondering if there is something that we should not miss? We will be there in the middle of Nov if that matters? Where are some good places to go shopping?
Krazy Kruizers Posted August 16, 2004 #2 Share Posted August 16, 2004 You will tender right into the shopping area. Lots of small shops for anything you want to buy. Don't forget to sample the rum cakes - lots of places to do that. Stringray City is a must see and do. You can either book a ship's tour and wait and book one once your get on the island. Other cute places - Hell and the Turtle Farm.
pbk917 Posted August 16, 2004 #3 Share Posted August 16, 2004 Stingray City should not be missed! When you get off of the tender, you will be right in the heart of the shopping district. There's a couple of "Kirk" stores in the area, they sell everything from Lladro's to Seiko watches. Have a great trip.
TheWog Posted August 16, 2004 #4 Share Posted August 16, 2004 Stingray City seems to be the don't miss thing on GC. Capt Marvins, Soto's Nativeway are some tours to check out. Seven Mile beach is supposed to be beautiful. We have not gone yet, but will be there in January.
cruiserkathi Posted September 8, 2004 #5 Share Posted September 8, 2004 Just read about Rum Point in an "Island" magazine. There's supposed to be a boat leaving from the Hyatt. Has anyone taken this boat trip? Supposedly great beach, snorkeling, and restuarant/bar. I'd love to hear from people who've spent the day there. kelelmel Posted September 9, 2004 #6 Share Posted September 9, 2004 Stingray city is awesome. When I sailed Carnival last year they offered an excursion that included a breif tour of the island, the town of Hell, the Turtle Farm and Stingray City. That was the best excursion I have ever done. I was very surprised to find that my favorite part of the excursion was the Turtle Farm. If you have the opportunity, you should check it out. It doesn't sound all that interesting, but it is quite impressive.
