psychboss Posted June 26, 2007 #1 Share Posted June 26, 2007 I have a friend that is 6'10" - he and family would like to cruise to Alaska - for a start - any cruise line you would recommend. He is obviously worried about size of bed and shower for a start.
Toto2Kansas Posted June 26, 2007 #2 Share Posted June 26, 2007 I have read that Princess can provide some sort of bed extender for those too tall to fit, but the main problem would be the shower. There is always a shower in the spa area though. All of the cruise lines we have sailed on have each had standard beds, no way around that one. Depending on the ship, the minis and full suites on the Sun Class ships have a sepearte shower which would fit his height, you might have him look into one of those. As for the larger ships, he would have to go to a full suite as on the Grand Class they provide a shower/tub combination which would not fit at all. honeydog714 Posted June 26, 2007 #4 Share Posted June 26, 2007 Yes princess has bed extenders, my brother is well over six feet tall and they were more than happy to help him. Our TA arranged it all, she matched him with a ship similar to the ones toto is referring to and he had no problem with the shower, he goes about 6'6 if that helps. She is a princess commodore (specialist in princess) so I am sure she could help you.
SJ Cruisers Posted June 26, 2007 #5 Share Posted June 26, 2007 Yes Princess does provide bed extenders on request. I am 6'7" and the shower stalls in balcony rooms are a problem the full bath/shower in mini-suites tends to provide a little more room.
Sea Hag Posted June 26, 2007 #6 Share Posted June 26, 2007 My DH is tall, and he's always whacking his elbows while in the shower. The biggest shower we ever had was on the Norwegian Spirit. Can I say that on the Princess board without mayhem ensuing? :p It had a door that opened out instead of shower curtain, and the shower itself was much larger than most.
