asilde Posted June 26, 2007 #1 Share Posted June 26, 2007 I’m considering adding another leg to my current reservation April 08, the cabin I booked for the first leg is already gone. How would one handle the switching of cabins if we need to wait until 1:00 to get into our new one. Has anyone ever done this before?
DonnaK Posted June 26, 2007 #2 Share Posted June 26, 2007 You're pretty far out...can't you switch your first cabin to an equivalent one that's available for both sailings?
isujim Posted June 26, 2007 #3 Share Posted June 26, 2007 From what I understand your steward will help you move your belongings to your new cabin as soon as the second one has been vacated and cleaned......... however I agree with Donna.........try changing your cabin assignment for the first leg and get the same cabin for both cruises...........less stressful and you have plenty of time. I don't mind switching, just wanted to know if it is easy to do. I wanted to spend the day in PR.

Ok........that makes sense........:) You'll just have to pack up on the last night just like everyone else, but instead of putting your luggage outside, you'll move it to your new cabin after your new cabin has been cleaned and set up.......... asilde Posted June 26, 2007 Author #7 Share Posted June 26, 2007 I thought the cabin steward would try to make it as easy a possible, did you need to wait until 1:00 for your new cabin
firefly333 Posted June 26, 2007 #8 Share Posted June 26, 2007 I have two cabins, booked each leg thru a different TA to add to the problem. Just leaving it that way. We are light packers, one suitcase each, so it hopefully wouldnt be a huge deal to move. I had forgotten about the 1 pm before you can get into your cabin thingee...thanks for the mental reminder. Someone else told me to check in at the purser's desk. That we can wait there with anyone else and will be escorted thru customs with any others doing back to back. prc Posted June 26, 2007 #9 Share Posted June 26, 2007 My wife & I had to switch cabins in the middle before. During the first leg, we went and found the cabin attendant taking care of the room we would be in the second leg. We explained to him that we would be with him for the next sailing. He was more than happy to let us bring our luggage to the new cabin between 8:00 & 8:30 on turnaround morning. Then all we had to do was keep our carryons with us. booze brothers Posted June 26, 2007 #10 Share Posted June 26, 2007 Our cabin steward spoke with the new cabin steward. Between the two of them they switched our belongings without any problem. Ours was one of the first cleaned so we were able to move right in. They had a few things not done and just asked us to please not unpack yet. They were great~!!
