barvn Posted June 27, 2007 #1 Share Posted June 27, 2007 I am crusing out of Miami on the Victory but plan on flying into Ft. Lauderdale. When you purchase the transfers from Carnival what exactly does that cover?
PINEVIEW01 Posted June 27, 2007 #2 Share Posted June 27, 2007 I usually fly into FLL when cruising out of MIA do to cost. We have purchased the transfers before. They met you at baggage and put you on a bus, you have to wait for it to fill. They make sure you don't touch your bags. You are made very aware you have to tip the driver loading the bags. When you get to MIA they are very rude about forceing you to tip. :( (I base this on my experiences and hearing the same thing over and over on these board.) You pay to the ride in the transfer, none of the tipping. We now take private transfers!:) Hope this helps some!
barvn Posted June 27, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted June 27, 2007 I will be traveling with a total of 6. We wouldn't fit in a taxi with all of our luggage. What would be our option and how much would it cost?

I found a thread about arriving in FLL and sailing out of Miami. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=577545 My past experience with having Carnival do the transfers, they did the air, also. Our bus ticket said right on it that the tip for the transfer was included. Our bus driver announced that his tip had been taken care of, but to be sure to take care of the porters at the dock. He was very friendly. This was up at Port Canaveral, though. I'm not sure if EVERY company includes the tip when the transfers are prearranged.
