Globus or Travel Agent??

We are thinking of taking the Avalon "Romantic Rhine" cruise in September or October. Not sure whether to deal directly with Globus, or contact a travel agent. I don't want to have to deal with anything (air, extra hotel nights, etc.) but I need to be certain that if anything goes wrong I will have someone reliable to contact. The only travel agent in my town that Globus deals with is rather hard to reach by phone (even on regular week days), so I wondered if any of you had dealt directly with Globus, and if so, were they responsive when (or if) problems arose??

Also, some travel agents are not available on weekends. We did not get a discount by using a AAA travel agent and also Uniworld would not discuss our itinerary directly with us. They said because we booked through an agent that they could only talk to her. I used AAA so my agaent COULD get the commission.
