Country Lass Posted June 30, 2007 #1 Share Posted June 30, 2007 Hi Everyone A new member of Cruise Critics here, based in the UK. My friend and I have done many cruises between us but are doing our first Celebrity one this autumn. We sail from Barcelona on 21st September on a 10 night Western Med on the Century. Most of our cruises have been on P&O which we have enjoyed, but feel that they are now being influenced too much by being under the Carnival management, standards are starting to slip and corners being cut in order to save costs:( . However, overall P&O still remain a good cruise experience. I have really enjoyed reading all your posts about Celebrity and am very impressed by the comments and think it is going to be a great experience. Any further advice re the Century would be appreciated, and it would be great to see if any other people onthe board are booked on this cruise too! TeaBag Posted June 30, 2007 #2 Share Posted June 30, 2007 Welcome to Celebrity Here is the link to the roll call for your cruise. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=342664 We sailed on Century last Dec and had a great time although it was only a 5 day cruise. Things we especially liked: Service, as always, excellent Murano (speciality restaurant) BTW there is an extra charge of $30pp here Cova cafe for the awesome croissants The spa cafe The freshly made waffles The sushi at 5 PM. The a capella group (don't know if they are still on there) Dru the cruise director Actually there wasn't anything we really didn't like! Have a great cruise! DancerOT Posted July 1, 2007 #4 Share Posted July 1, 2007 Century is one of my favorite ships! The new spa cafe is fantastic! There were always lots of yummy options there to eat without making you feel too guilty. It is actually run by the staff of Murano's and is never crowded. The ship is just the right size - not too big or too small. Do you have any specific questions you are looking for the answers to?
DeepWaterMariner Posted July 1, 2007 #5 Share Posted July 1, 2007 We shared a table with 6 Brits on our last Celebrity cruise in February. One guy in particular loved the beef dishes. He had beef every night. His comment was that you just didn't get beef like that in the UK, so if you like beef, enjoy.
