ruskatab Posted July 1, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 1, 2007 I had read this before and wanted to take the Conquest Book but forgot to ask the room steward if it ok to take it. Going on Valor next month and would like to have the book.
SandyToes1978 Posted July 1, 2007 #2 Share Posted July 1, 2007 I think it depends. Our book on the Pride in January was pretty beat up and I asked the steward if we could keep it, and he said no, but on the last night, put a brand new one in the room and took the old one. Other people in our party asked their stewards for their books and got to keep them. I guess it just depends....
ChefPeg Posted July 1, 2007 #3 Share Posted July 1, 2007 What book? I am sailing on the Valor in October, our first Carnival, and was curious as to what book you are referring to. Thanks, Peggy
ruskatab Posted July 1, 2007 Author #4 Share Posted July 1, 2007 There is a book in the room on the coffee or side table about the ship your on and about carnival. It is a hard back book.
petro772 Posted July 1, 2007 #5 Share Posted July 1, 2007 Getting to keep the ship's book is like sex--some get it, some don't. ;)
PrettyLA Posted July 1, 2007 #6 Share Posted July 1, 2007 I always just assumed you weren't allowed to keep the books. Of course I have taken things before that I don't think I'm allowed to keep. Hmm...
Cotton Posted July 1, 2007 #7 Share Posted July 1, 2007 What book? I am sailing on the Valor in October, our first Carnival, and was curious as to what book you are referring to. Thanks, Peggy A nice looking big hardbound book will be in your cabin. It contains about 75% advertisements, and a little about Carnival and the ports you visit. Nothing I would care to have to lug home. Obviously, some folks would like to have this as a souvenier. If you'd like to have one, ask your cabin steward. Some on these boards have said they've just put the book in their luggage (theft) - some have asked the steward and have been given one - some have said the steward brought them a new, wrapped one and told them it would be charged to their S&S account. carnivalkid Posted July 1, 2007 #8 Share Posted July 1, 2007 Our room steward on the Liberty said yes to taking home the book when we asked her early in the week. Since the book was pretty beat up she brought us a brand new and we didn't get charged.
DAllenTCY Posted July 1, 2007 #9 Share Posted July 1, 2007 On inaugural sailings they give the books to each stateroom, and they have a signing session with the Captain and crew. David
Caliber1 Posted July 1, 2007 #10 Share Posted July 1, 2007 On our Legend cruise we just asked our steward and he said to take it.

Glad we did, just for nostalgia sake, but have restrained myself for ALL the others! After awhile they all look alike, BUT! next year, if all goes well, it'll be the 20th year of cruising! I'm TAKING the BOOK!:D
