B J Posted May 3, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 3, 2004 We are staying an extra 3 days after our cruise and need advice as to where to spend the time, in Seward or Anchorage? What would you suggest and where would you stay? Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance! Yukon Posted May 3, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 3, 2004 It depends on what your interests are. Anchorage is just a city like any other city - it's best feature being that from some of the highrises you can see Alaska off in the distance. Seward is a small town on the edge of incredible wilderness where you can do everything from glacier walks to world-class fishing. Guess which one I spend my time in! Budget Queen Posted May 4, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 4, 2004 Are you sailing in/out Seward?? Then definately consider a night there and take advantage of the great touring opportunities- Kenai fjords boat trips are always a must do for me. I wouldn't spend the time in Anchorage- if you are coming to Alaska for well Alaska. Head up to Talkeetna and overnight there perhaps. Consider stops along the way, cheap glacier treking with MICA guides.
