Time to see Statue of Liberty?

We are sailing the Explorer of the Seas out of Bayonne, NJ. From the map it looks like the ferry to the Statue of Liberty is about two miles away from the port. Would it be possible to go to the Statue of Liberty before the ship sails at 5:00pm? How long should we plan on allowing?

Minimum of 4 hours but you should be back on the ship by no later than 4. A ferry leaves from Liberty state Park.

If you are going to do this, I would strongly suggest making the first ferry to the Statue.
