tiffstulips Posted July 6, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 6, 2007 Has anyone stayed at any of these San Juan hotels recently? If so how was it? Clean? Staff? Rooms? Good or bad for money? Hotel Miramar El Canario by the Lagoon El Canario Inn All comments welcome! Thanks!
Branwen Posted July 6, 2007 #2 Share Posted July 6, 2007 I don't have any info regarding those hotels but wanted to let you know that we have booked at the Coral Princess Inn, in San Juan. It is a small, no frills inn that has received excellent reviews both here and on Tripadvisor and is very affordable. Good luck!

rlkubi Posted July 6, 2007 #4 Share Posted July 6, 2007 We stayed at the Hotel Milano in January and loved it! Would definitely go back. Very convenient location and price.
stargate fan Posted July 7, 2007 #5 Share Posted July 7, 2007 We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Isla Verde. Very nice place with an incredible free "continental" breakfast that included many hot items not normally found. The pool area is gorgeous. There is a little bar/food stand at the pool that served the most delicious burgers, of all things. We were so impressed with the property, that, since that trip, we only book Hampton Inns unless absolutely impossible. One thing I learned about San Juan hotels is that the ones with casinos charge an extra tax, something like 18%, even if you do not intend on setting foot inside. If you want the casino, disregard the above message. :D
