That issue has impacted passengers on several cruise lines, and there have been posts about the problem on specific cruisde line forums.

 

Some people with dual citizenship and two passports have gotten around the problem; but in some cases, the cruise line cancelled the stop to avoid the hassle and issue.

Passengers with Isralie passports or Isrealie stamps in passports are not allowed ashore , also US passport holders were not allowed ashore on our Costa cruise earlier this year.everyone else was welcomed with open arms and allowed to wander around the town without let or hindrance.The museum was interesting as was the Souk. At one jewellery shop, which was closing, we were invited to accompany the owner to the Mosque for prayers. We declined saying I was not a Muslim "No matter" he said "Allah knows all of us" It was a very polite gesture , we thought.
