Weirdest thing you've ever seen

Recommended Posts

We were with friends on the Brillance doing a Panama Canal cruise I believe it was in February of 2005. Whe we spotted a rather tall lady walking very awkwardly. She keep hanging on to her head. When she turned around she had a dark 5 o'clock shadow. There was a group of about 30 cross dressing men sailing with their wives.

They were the nicest people and didn't mind talking about their preferences of wearing women's clothes. They assured us they were straight and most had children, but it was odd. Some of them had the cheapest and worst wigs I'd ever seen. Most could not walk in high heels.

The only problem we had was they were using the women's rest room and some of our group was uncomfortable with that. But the men didn't want them in the men's room either. So the CD had to talk to them about using their cabin's facilities instead.

Fortunately they had a good sense of humor because they knew people were talking and even the CD and entertainers were making jokes about the ugly women on the cruise. I felt sorry for some of the other women, because people were pointing and questioning if they were part of the "Group" or just unattractive people.

That is unbelievable! Did they dress like that all day, every day?

We were sailing on Celebrity's Horizon in July 2000 and there was a couple with a son about 10 years old that brought his razor scooter onto the ship. The kid brought it everywhere, to the pool, buffet, even to the beach. Anyhow, the final morning in Bermuda as the ship is leaving port, I hear the Mom screaming from the deck rail & look over to spot her dopey husband & their son left at the pier with the razor scooter of course! The Captain didn't stop the ship, so they must've tendered onto it.

Not as wierd as some of the above, but on our last cruise on the Carnival Liberty, I noticed a guy sitting in the same seat in the Lido everytime I went in or through, regardless of the time of day. Often there were crew people sitting and talking with him.

Maybe he lived on the ship?

You sure that was not Rosie Odonnel?

Yes, they dressed in dresses all day - everyday. They wore earrings and makeup and wigs. The shoes were the funniest because they were huge and some of they could not walk in them, their ankles turned over and they were walking on the sides of their ankles. We even saw on guy in the airport who has wearing men's clothes, but still had on girly makeup and eye liner and was carrying his wig. I guess they go somewhee every year with their wifes and 2005 was the Panama cruise. The wife that organized it wrote a book and she had copies of it with her. She and her husband had matching dresses on formal night, it was a kind of wild animal print. She did look better . LOL

The strangest thing I encountered wasn't seen...it was heard.

GAS!! Lot's of it, every morning on the balcony above ours. Guy must have been trying to be polite to his wife by stepping outside, but he forgot about those of us below him.

At least we were downwind!!;)

I have heard a few other similar stories to this one on these boards, guess it's not that uncommon...ick!

Many years ago I worked as a casino executive aboard the S.S. Norway. Early one morning as I left the disco, which was aft, we hit some really bad seas. The ship was pitching and rolling as you walked through the passage way people were bouncing off the walls. Ahead of me I saw this older gent walking as straight as if we were in calm seas. He was so hammered that while the rest of us were bouncing off the walls he was not. Amazing. Garlicruzer.

The only I saw that was strange was on the Vision Christmas 04. we had a Elvis impersonator on board, not as entertainment but as a guest. Saw him all over the place but with his sideburns he was hard to miss.

I think the same guy was on our last Serenade cruise in the Caribbean!
