jlw016 Posted July 11, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 11, 2007 Does anybody know where I can get a bottle of Jamaican Rum or any other type of liquor? Do they sell it in the cruise ship terminal in Montego Bay?
Rare CruisinCrow Posted July 11, 2007 #2 Share Posted July 11, 2007 Every store we went into in Montego Bay sold rum. I think we paid $10 for a bottle of Appleton. The rum cream is good too.
travel_babe Posted July 13, 2007 #3 Share Posted July 13, 2007 Appleton is the way to go and can be found everywhere, and I mean everywhere, even little tourist shops. I second that rum cream. :D
klct39lg Posted July 13, 2007 #4 Share Posted July 13, 2007 I missed out on the rum, I still cannot believe it. I agree about the rum cream, though. I love iced coffee in the summer..it is extra special with a little rum cream mixed in. Forget Starbuck's!:)
cwestbrook Posted July 14, 2007 #5 Share Posted July 14, 2007 I paid a few extra dollars for the 12 year old Appleton Rum and it was worth it. I bought it in the terminal building. Something we didn't know----if you are from any other state besides Texas, you can bring back 5 Liters of alcohhol. If you are from Texas, you can only bring back ONE. Bummer! Luckily California can bring back 6 bottles duty free...:D The Banana Rum Cream,Rum Cream, Coconut Cream are produced by Appleton under thier sister company called Sangsters. The 12 year old Appleton rocks. My husband and I have been to Jamaica twice before and bring back 6 bottles of teh rum cream per person because it isn't sold in the states. This past April we found Appleton on the island of St. Martin:D
