New Year's Eve on Princess - How Dressy?

I'll be taking my second cruise ever on Grand Princess on December 19, 2008. It's a 14 night cruise that includes both Christmas and New Years. I'm assuming New Year's Eve will be a formal night - the bigger question - how dressy do people get for New Year's Eve?

We were on the Golden Princess last December 23-30. The first formal night was December 24 and the majority of people looked very nice, lots of suits, tuxes, gowns and cocktail dresses. The atrium was crowded with people taking pictures of one another.

I would guess if NYE falls on a formal night people will definitely be decked out in their finest...I would be.:)

Hey you found the board! I think you will find that on New Years Eve even formal dress is kicked up a notch. How fun to sail on New Years Eve!
