We're going to be on the Amsterdam RTW cruise next year, which stops at both Chennai and Mumbai. We'd like to do an overland tour to Delhi and Agra, but the one offered by the ship is in excess of $5000 each(!) Can anyone recommend a local Indian agency which could book this kind of a tour for us? We'd really appreciate it if you could. Thanks.

How many days is the $5,000 tour? It could buy you a fair bit of sightseeing in India. If you want to visit Agra in the middle of your cruise it would be safest to visit it with a ship's tour. Otherwise just book it on your own. Fly to Delhi and then you can either rent a car with driver from your hotel for the trip to Agra or take the train. In any event I would book at 5 star properties like the Taj Group or Oberoi and their concierge will likely help you out with the Agra trip. Both the Taj Group and Oberoi have 1800 numbers so you can give them a call and discuss what they have and costing.
