Question about Whittier, AK sailing Island Princes

How soon you can embark?

Can you then get off the ship for a independent cruise tour to Prince William Sound? I see that sail-away isn't until 9:e0 pm.

I'll post this on the AK board also.

I noticed Princess offers an excursion if you sail into Anchorage the day before embarktion. It's the "Blackstone Glacier Cruise" Do you have to be in Anchorage that morning to take this excursion? We will probably be in Seward that morning. How does the excursion work?

Thanks!:)

I was on the Coral and was onboard before 1. There were people that got on before me as well. I think that in general it is an earlier embarkation due to the need to get to Anchorage for flights and the fact that you arrive around midnight the night before.

You can come and go as you once you go through checkin. THere were several glacier tours available for the afternoon. I am thinking of booking one when I am there next month.
