my husband and I always use Bonine and like it. We saw Bonine for kids, but it says not for kids 6 and under.

What have you used for your kids in case they feel sea sick?

We've used the sea bands for DD--they're bracelets that velcro on the wrist and use pressure points (I think that's how they work) to prevent seasickness. DD's prone to seasickness and they've worked really well.

Happy sailing!

Chances are your kids will be fine without any meds. Call their pediatrician and ask if it's ok to cut the bonine or dramamine doses in half. If my memory serves me, those medicines are like antihistamines (which is why they make you so tired) so maybe choosing another antihistamine like benedryl liquid for children (they do have dosing instrustions on the bottle for as young as 2) might work as well. But the ped will be able to answer that question.

It seems like kids have a natural ability to be able the handle motion better (think of all of those amusement park rides that you loved as a child but would make you sick NOW)

But that's not to say that kid's don't get sick, some STILL do. So it's always better to be prepared.

I agree with crusinmam6. While eventually our daughter required sea sickness medicine (eg., Bonine) that occured a few years later rather than at such young ages. But I think the best advice is to discuss this item with the children doctor.

Exactly, my oldest was on her 5th cruise before she complained of "her tummy feeling funny" one night. By then she was old enough for the bonine dose.

DD never has much of a problem on board, but does have issues with curvey roads and small boats (like the tenders). She's experienced discomfort in these situations since she was an infant (8MO on a ferry near SF, CA)

If the ship isn't a problem but the tenders are - try to get a seat in the back of the tender (aft) and have your child suck on some crystalized ginger just before and during the trip.

I have been looking into different remedies, and I think I am going to try something called Motion Eaze. It's all natural and I heard it works well. Anybody ever try it. Check out there web site.
