Any sunshine this summer?

On our June 4-11 northbound Coral Princess cruise, the sun came out midway through or 3rd port town - which was Skagway, and continued for the rest of the cruise. We took the train to Fraser, BC in the morning, then a bus to Carcross and back to Skagway. It was more overcast than foggy, so we could still see the beautiful scenery from the train. The clouds interfered with our Misty Fjords flight out of Ketchikan, however.

We were in Alaska from 6/16 until 7/3 - The weather was great - we had sunshine in Anchorage, Skagway, Juneau, Ketchikan, and Vancouver. We had perfect clear blue skies and temps in the 70's to 80 for 2 days at Denali and Talkeetna - Mt. McKinley was totally cloudless. In 17 days it only rained twice - the only really bad day was our trip from Anchorage to Whittier.

We were in Alaska from 6/3 through 6/18 and we only had 2 bad weather days - the 2nd and 3rd days in Seward were rainy and overcast. Other than that, it was gorgeous, even in Juneau, Ketchikan, Skagway! :D

Thanks for the pictures - they were great - we did an almost identical trip one week later than y'all - we even stayed at the Denali Lakeview Inn and had breakfast at the Roadhouse in Talkeetna, did the Train in Sagway - with the bus into the Yukon, stopped at Caribou Crossing for lunch, went out with Capt. Larry in Juneau and saw a bunch of whales.

We were in Alaska 6/23 - 6/30 and saw the sun almost the entire time. No rain to speak of. Even the tour guides commented on how nice the weather was for us.

Ditto (6/24 - 7/1).

We did get a few showers in part of Glacier Bay and Ketchikan was overcast, but it never rained.

We took the train in Skagway with wonderful weather.

Pete

We had 30 minutes of rain in Ketchikan, but we did have an overcast day in Skagway. The train trip was still wonderful. We went all the way to the Yukon and it was beautiful up there with blue skies. I understood that we were having exceptional weather. :D Our trip was mid June.
