Morisnfan Posted July 18, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 18, 2007 Have any of you ever worn one? I just got a great deal on one from Ebay- 8.00 including shipping! It seemed like a great idea when I started bidding, but now I wonder, is it icky? Should I launder it in between wearings? I was only planning on wearing it on the ship-inside mostly, not out sweating or anything. Any advice is welcome!
GORDONCHICK Posted July 18, 2007 #2 Share Posted July 18, 2007 At home, I would launder, but that would be after probably wearing for a full day. Assuming you are wearing it just for the evening, it would be okay as long as deoderant didn't rub off or something. Though I still might launder it. Leo Jay Posted July 18, 2007 #3 Share Posted July 18, 2007 If you plan on reversing it between wearings, then yes, you should absolutely have it cleaned between wearings.
pms4104 Posted July 18, 2007 #4 Share Posted July 18, 2007 Are you sure "reversible" doesn't mean wearing it backwards? Just making a funny, or trying to.
Morisnfan Posted July 19, 2007 Author #5 Share Posted July 19, 2007 I guess I'll find out when it arrives! :)
ChefPeg Posted July 19, 2007 #6 Share Posted July 19, 2007 I have a reversible skirt and I wash it before I wear it each time. It doesn't look sat in or wrinkled. I would wash it every time I wear it.
Morisnfan Posted July 19, 2007 Author #7 Share Posted July 19, 2007 Yes, now that I really think about it I'll have to wash it each time-but not so bad really I can always do a quickee hand wash & hang in bathroom to dry. I'm planning to pack as if I am going on a 7 day but actually am going on a 14 day. Must be strong & limit # of shoes I bring too!
celbercrz333 Posted July 19, 2007 #8 Share Posted July 19, 2007 You don't say what kind of fabric this dress is made of. All I can say is if it's mostly polyester, then you can soak it in woolite or dishwashing liquid, rinse out well and let it drip dry in the shower. klct39lg Posted July 21, 2007 #9 Share Posted July 21, 2007 This topic reminds me of something that I saw yesterday while shopping at an Outdoor/Camping store (J.L. Waters). Ex Officio lightweight underwear Tagline: "7 countries, 16 weeks, 1 pair of underwear" http://www.exofficio.com/splash.aspx?page=LIST&category|womens=Women%27s%20Clothing&canned_results_trigger=&category_id=womens Evidently, one can wear these underwear for a few days before washing and they (hallelujah) dry quickly after washing. I just thought it might be an extreme example of trying to save space.:D On the other hand, a reversible dress would be a good example of saving space.:)
emmysmommy Posted July 21, 2007 #10 Share Posted July 21, 2007 I think a reversible dress sounds like a great idea! I was going to mention deodorant marks as well but if you are doing a quick hand wash between wearings, it should be fine. Good luck!
