ohfan Posted July 20, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 20, 2007 We are cruising on the Valor in December and airfares into Ft Lauderdale seem pretty good for us. but I am wondering what a taxi/limo/shuttle to the port of Miami would cost for 4 people.. wieslaw Posted July 23, 2007 #5 Share Posted July 23, 2007 We did the same thing back in end of April. We flew to FLL and took a van through Quality Limo Service to Port of Miami , they charged us (5 people) $75 each way and tip. We did not do it but I have seen some people's posts about using the public transportation - the least expensive but you have to be able to carry your own luggage. Some people rent cars and that is also not very expensive especially if there is few people to be transported. There is a shuttle service ( right outside the terminal) at 18 dol per person, there are also taxis and limos ..... so you have many options. The distance is about 28 miles and it takes 35 /40 min on good days and maybe a lot longer when traffic is heavy. Wes

canadianfam Posted July 24, 2007 #7 Share Posted July 24, 2007 Two years ago, we flew into Lauderdale because the flight was cheaper than the one to Miami. We rented a car at the airport in Lauderdale with a return in Maimi, to an office close to the pier. They offer free shuttle to the pier. We are 5, so we rented a minivan. The rental price for 1 day was cheaper than the taxi that we took the year before from the Miami airport to the pier! Look into various rental places, they often offer specials. Sadiecat Hi sadiecat, this is the same company that we have used at end of April ........ but the price has changed: we were charged 15 dol per person ($75 for 5 of us) plus tip each way - why would the price go up so much in such a short time ........ unless there is only one or two people going and maybe that is why they are charging more - it takes the same amount of time and driver. Bequia Posted July 31, 2007 #12 Share Posted July 31, 2007 The Tri-County Airport Express with the $18 shared ride shuttle, also offers private town car service for $64 to the Port of Miami. Towncar service priced right – and right at the curb for your immediate use. You do not need to make a reservation for this service, as their 150 vehicle fleet is based at the Fort Lauderdale – Hollywood International Airport. They service all of South Florida and have been the exclusive transportation provider for the airport since 1986. The rates are for 1 to 4 passengers in your party, one way, to or from the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. Additional charges for extra stops and pick-ups from Miami Dade, Miami International Airport and the Port of Miami may apply. Drivers accept all major credit cards. When you arrive at the airport, collect your luggage and go outside the baggage claim area, lower level, curbside, contact one of the starters (customer services reps.) wearing a white shirt with "AIRPORT EXPRESS" in red on the back of the shirt and an emblem on the sleeve and over the breast pocket. Let the starter know what service you are interested in and he/she will assist you. http://www.floridalimo.com/Pages/private.html
