Hi,

We have sailed the Mariner and the Freedom (Royal Caribbean) and would love to try the Caribbean Princess. Size wise, I presume it compares, how about the kids area, arcade and sports court. My son will be 12 next summer, and we want to leave on a 9 night from NY on the Caribbean Princess, will my 12 year old son enjoy this ship? Will he have many activities in his age group (8 to 12) or will he feel to old for it. I'm sure there will be plenty of kids since its summer vacation. Thanks for all the info. Also, can he come for dinner in the speciality restaurants,

The Caribbean Princess is a beautiful ship....but it doesn't have the wow factor of Royal Caribbean's. There is no Royal Promenade, Johnny Rockets, Rock Climbing Wall, Mini Golf, etc..

That being said, we had a wonderful time on her. If you go make sure you see the piano player...Bert Stratton..if he's still playing there.

The kids do have their own space and I think there were plenty of activities for them.

The movies under the stars is kind of cool and teens seem to like that.

They can also go to the specialty restaurants, you just have to pay for it.

I think you would have a wonderful time, but if you are comparing it to Royal Caribbean, the ship may not wow you as much. We have not sailed the Mariner yet...due to in February, but loved the Navigator.

Hope this helps.

Heather
