Blazer2 Posted July 25, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 25, 2007 I frequently read where cruisers get up to $250 OBC for owning stock in Royal Caribbean. Does anyone have any information on this? How much stock do you have to own before you can get the OBC? Thanks
TEXASMUNK Posted July 25, 2007 #2 Share Posted July 25, 2007 100 shares. It is not a monster performer, but if you cruise frequently, a one week cruise gets you a $100 on board credit. Once you own the stock, you need to fax proof of ownership after you book your cruise. The stock does pay a quarterly dividend of around $15.00 for every 100 shares. We had gotten back better than 1/4 of our investment from just the OBC's
firefly333 Posted July 25, 2007 #3 Share Posted July 25, 2007 Both CCL and RCL give cruisers OBC. You get $50 basically on short cruises and $100 on 7 day cruises, higher amts on longer cruises. I just finally bought both stocks now so I can get credit on both cruise lines. CCL you get OBC on not just Carnival but Princess which we like and some others. I figured if I am going to cruise 3 or 4 times a year might as well hold some stock.
gnparend Posted July 25, 2007 #4 Share Posted July 25, 2007 Go to this link for you answer. If you cruise twice a year 7 day cruises in 3 years you will be ahead $600 OBC & approx $15 per quarter divdends ($180). The stock has dropped almost $3 per share in 3 years so still net gain. http://www.rclinvestor.com/phoenix.zhtml?c=103045&p=irol-IRHome

Chawoobie Posted July 25, 2007 #7 Share Posted July 25, 2007 I bought 100 shares last August at around $34.00 per share - just before our 9 night cruise on Grandeur - got a $200 credit. Getting $100 on 7 night Freedom cruise in September. Stock is around $41 now, so I'm not complaining!:D
