mringenoldus Posted July 27, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 27, 2007 Can the divider be opened by the room steward between these two aft E1 cabins? There seems to be conflicting info on the boards. Can anyone state for certain? Thanks! Maureen
DonnaK Posted July 27, 2007 #2 Share Posted July 27, 2007 Aft balconies are fixed on all Voyager-class ships and cannot be opened. On Voyager/Adventure/Explorer, the divider on side balconies are solid walls that cannot be opened. The reason there is conflicting info about other balcony dividers is that there is no hard and fast rule. It seems to be at the discretion of the Captain and/or head of housekeeping, and is variable. We were told that the official policy is that they only open dividers between connecting cabins, but people in adjacent have gotten their balconies open without issue, and others have had their request denied for "safety concerns". mringenoldus Posted July 27, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted July 27, 2007 I think my daughter will just have to ask when she gets onboard. They were hoping to join with their friends to make one large balcony
mspink98 Posted July 27, 2007 #4 Share Posted July 27, 2007 We were in 9392 in February, and wile we didn't ask to have the divider opened, it looked pretty solidly in place. The bolts connecting it were painted over, and there didn't seem to be any hingles or anything to facilitate opening.
mringenoldus Posted July 27, 2007 Author #5 Share Posted July 27, 2007 Sounds like they will just need to come through the hall door. How did you like 9392? Did you have a chance to also see 9390?
