Empress Questions

Recommended Posts

Just a couple of questions that came up in our roll call for Bermuda.

How many formal nights nights?

Are there fridges in the staterooms?

Boarding in Philly...parking rates...do you board the ship right from the terminal or do you have to board a bus? My Mum uses a walker just wondering how easy embarktion is.

Thankyou in advance for all responses.

Peace, Anna

I have only done the 11 night Southern Caribbean so I can only answer 1 question.

There are no refrigerators in the cabins on the Empress. That includes the JS cabins. I do not know about the higher up suites. Royal Suite or Owners Suite.

There are safes in the rooms.

2 formal

no fridge

safes in closet

if you drive by car you can pull up right to the check in area and remove luggage and extra passengers

the driver will then have to go to the parking lot and catch a bus back.

it took about 10-15 minutes for them to return to us.

then you check in and there is a waiting area.

Id make sure you got there early.

we were on board by noon.

there is a long (can be steep for some) ramp that goes to the ship

Im sure they would have wheelchairs at the ready for her to use

We took the Empress a year ago to Bermuda from Philly. As a suggestion, bring some seasickness medicine even if you are not prone to illness. That ship ROCKS (and I mean that literally). We talked with people in port from other larger ships and they had no problems. I was okay if I went outside to get fresh air. Apple juice is supposed to be good for seasickness....something about the fiber. Don't know if it is true, but I drank a ton of it each morning on the deck. Figured it couldn't hurt. I was okay headed back. I'd be curious if this is normal on that ship or was it just our trip?

We took the ship out of Philly last summer as well. I believe the cost of parking is $10.00 per day. Payment up front. I hate to see them leaving Philly, it was probably the easiest time we ever had as far as parking, luggage, and boarding. The port was a snap to find as well. Enjoy your trip.
