Request advice from people in UK

This may be a little off topic, but it does have to do with cruising eventually.

We are considering a Carnival Med cruise in 2009.

I'm thinking of extending my holiday and flying from the States to London. Spend a couple of days and catch the ChunnelTrain to Paris. From Paris, catch the EuroTrain to Rome.

To those in Europe, what are your thoughts? Nice way to spend a few days? Waste of time on a train?

My view:

Do it!...

Not been on the eurostar over to Paris, but have been from Paris down to Italy on the train, and the scenery was amazing. The train was rather nice as well - a TGV - very fast.

Hope this helps,
