Crrbncrzn Posted August 4, 2007 #1 Share Posted August 4, 2007 We are crusing over the Christmas holidays and will be in Cozumel on Christmas Day. Does anyone know, what if anything will be open? Will the taxi cabs be operating?
GORDONCHICK Posted August 4, 2007 #2 Share Posted August 4, 2007 I'm sure there will be several things open, but not the usual hustle and bustle of Cozumel. The country (generally speaking) is very devout Catholic, and I think unless people are having to work, they probably won't be out much. You're best bet might be to book an excursion, but I would think that there would be taxis running but maybe not as many as usual.
kitty9 Posted August 5, 2007 #3 Share Posted August 5, 2007 Some things, like the larger chain stores, will be open for a limited number of hours---usually until noon or 1. Many of the smaller family-owned stores will be closed
sail7seas Posted August 5, 2007 #4 Share Posted August 5, 2007 Each time we have cruised over the holidays, Christmas Day has either been a sea day or we were at HAL's private island. I don't think any regular port stop would be very active. I'd be surprised if many tour operators are working or if many stores were open. Might be a good day to just not get off the ship.......might not be worth it. I'd even be a little nervous about going to the beach in case we had a hard time getting a taxi to take us back to the ship.
