Ship Time

Does Mariner's Eastern Caribbean itinerary stay on Eastern time while in port? Specifically St. Thomas.

Some do, some don't--it's up to the Captain of each ship. Whatever time it is on any given island, KEEP YOUR WATCH SET TO SHIPS TIME!!!!!!!! There are clocks by all the elevators--just check the time before you leave the ship and sychronize your watch to the clock!

Your Steward will put signs in your cabin when you need to reset your clocks. :)

We were just on the Mariner and they stayed on the Eastern time. I think doing the Eastern Caribbean, you stay in the time zone anyway.

 

When we did the Western (different time-zones) the second week, we (ship time) still stayed in Eastern time .

I think it depends on the time of the year too. Most of the islands don't observe daylight savings time like we do here. We did Western on Freedom and the ship was one hour ahead of island time except on Labadee since that is their private destination.

Thanks. I know that St. Thomas is one hour ahead when we sail in November. The reason I need to know is because we're getting married while in St. Thomas (at island time) and not through the cruise line.

 

I'm trying to finalize the transportation for guests back to the ship at the correct time.
