Canada5 Posted August 11, 2007 #1 Share Posted August 11, 2007 Can anyone offer any information on the canopy tour that Princess speaks of in their shore excursions? I was not aware that a canopy tour was in operation in Barbados.
scubacrazy Posted September 6, 2007 #2 Share Posted September 6, 2007 I'm also interested in the Barbados Canopy Tour. I called Princess for more info and they said it was new and sent me a brochure from Aerial Trek Adventures. Let me know if you take this I'd love to know how it went. We are cruising in November. Aplmac Posted September 6, 2007 #3 Share Posted September 6, 2007 A friend who's into local thrill-seeking activities like Car-rallying,Scuba,etc. tells me he heard of such an interest-to-be, but he's not certain it was ever actually set up and operational. Now you guys have me intrigued. If I find out anything more, I'll let you know but for now it doesn't seem to be Common Knowledge. Any odder Bajans in here who know more? Spill de beanz, nuh! 1kycat Posted October 10, 2007 #6 Share Posted October 10, 2007 Here's video from a youth church group who went on 9/1: http://www.peoplescathedral.org/media/showpage.php?p=vplayer¶m=41&parent=2 And here's a blurb I found that goes along with aplmac's info: Jack-in-the Box Gully, St. Thomas, is the location of the aerial tour. View the beautiful ecosystem created by Barbados. The tour takes you over seven platforms, each with two of our experienced guides who will provide information on different areas of the eco-system you are experiencing. Age participation is between 16 and 80 years old. Maximum weight is 250 pounds per guest. Contact: 431-0386 or 253-7232
JBeaune Posted December 23, 2007 #7 Share Posted December 23, 2007 As good as the ones in Jamaica, St. Marten, and Antigua. No rope bridges to deal with. Interesting deep gully with vegetation like a rain forest, wouldn't expect to find this on relatively flat Barbados. Lines up to 250' if I remember correctly. Very safe and child friendly.
