Looking for a good hotel in the old town area, near the cruise terminal. We are only there for one night. I have seen Sheraton mentioned. Are there others that you would recommend? Thanks.

The El Covento is in Old San Juan and is highly rated. I think there are one or two other ones (smaller) and the Sheraton...

The El Convento is indeed nice... San Juans only 5 star.... and expensive. But ooooo so nice. We loved it. Stayed 2 nights precruise for our 25th anniversary.

Hotel Milano.....have heard good things and some ok things ..... clean and safe and much cheaper.

Sheraton OSJ - right by the old piers.

We sailed from San Juan last year, and did a 2 nights pre at the Milano. It's very convenient to restaurants, nightlife, etc. Our room was small, but clean. We were only there to sleep, so who cares! The staff was very friendly. The restaurant (sorry, can't remember the name) was very tasty!

The best part - on sailing day we actually walked to the pier! It was that close!
