gamommyof3 Posted August 14, 2007 #1 Share Posted August 14, 2007 Hey everyone! We are cruising on Liberty the week of Thanksgiving and I was wondering if we should get our travel insurance through RCI? We booked our cruise through them. Thanks! amybear912 Posted August 14, 2007 #2 Share Posted August 14, 2007 You can get your insurance through RC as long as you get it before final payment is due... keep in mind that if you didn't get it at the time of booking, certain pre-existing conditions will not be covered... this is true of most of the travel insurance policies, you have to get it within a short time of actually booking your cruise.. however, shop around... there are policies that are just as good and may not cost as much as RCs... Try going to insuremytrip.com Lots to choose from at different price points.
cruiseco Posted August 14, 2007 #3 Share Posted August 14, 2007 ... keep in mind that if you didn't get it at the time of booking, certain pre-existing conditions will not be covered... . The RCI plan does not cover pre-existing medical conditions under any circumstances no matter when the policy is purchased. It's handles the same as any other "non-covered reason" -- with a portion of the penalties held as a future cruise credit.
ColoradoMom!! Posted August 14, 2007 #4 Share Posted August 14, 2007 I realize this topic has been covered in the past - but since this is current, I have a question. I am mostly concerned about flight delay or cancellation since we are flying out of Denver in Dec. My second concern is any visit to the Dr.'s office on board for a sore throat, etc. since I have two kids with me. Since I know nothing about insurance, except to go through Insuremytrip.com - what things should I be sure to look for? There are SO many options! Any advice? Thanks :)
