luvs2cruzga Posted August 17, 2007 Author #2 Share Posted August 17, 2007 Just to clarify my question - what is the best time of the year to visit the Galapagos? We are looking to book for 2009 and can choose any time.
Rare Roland4 Posted August 17, 2007 #3 Share Posted August 17, 2007 There really is no right answer to this one. Being right on the Equator the weather tends to be the same all year round. If you check out the VERY LONG thread "Xpedition-Anyone Recently Back" you will find every opinion there is on every possible question you might have. It's a lot of reading, but worth the time. To try and answer your question, it seems that March - June is best for maximum viewing of all of the different birds/animals that inhabit the islands. Susan-M Posted August 17, 2007 #4 Share Posted August 17, 2007 There are basically two seasons in the Galapagos...described here: http://www.galapagosislands.com/html/galapagos_climate.html We went in early November and enjoyed the weather. I asked on of our guides which month he would recommend if we were returning and he said that his favourite month is May .... the vegetation is much greener after the rains of the previous few months, May is not a very rainy month, and temperatures are very nice. EnidSooner Posted September 7, 2007 #5 Share Posted September 7, 2007 Here is a chart of air and sea temps... http://www.galapagosadventures.com/page22.html We went in February 07 and loved every minute. Our only regret was that we missed the Waved Albatross. A good reason to go back!
