PoseidonGodoftheSea Posted August 17, 2007 #1 Share Posted August 17, 2007 Can anyone tell me what the suite perks are on NCL, if any? I've never sailed them but the prices on their suites are decent. Thanks.

karen2cruz Posted August 17, 2007 #3 Share Posted August 17, 2007 Perks vary according to what suite you are in. The higher the category the more you get (drinks, canapes, etc). Go here to get an idea: http://www.nclsuitesandvillas.com
Markandrews Posted August 17, 2007 #4 Share Posted August 17, 2007 I used to have the complete llist but I deleted it. Of course the higher the grade the better the perks. AA and above will get unlimited water and soft drinks and a certain amount of free liquor. Most all suites and mini suites get conceirge service, Mini suites will not receive this perk soon. Many categories get a butler. These hard workers bring you what you want when you want it. There is early on and off and priority tenders for most categories. A special cocktail party for most catergories and VIP's. We have always received fresh flowers in our cabin. Free bottle of Champagne. Nicer Bathroom amenties. Cocktail snacks brought each evening. IMHO suite treatement on NCL is better then what I have received on HAL and RCI. Others can add all that I forgot.
cruisebum50 Posted August 17, 2007 #5 Share Posted August 17, 2007 We were in an owner's suite and got priority embarkation and disembarkation. The liquor is 3 regular size bottles of the alcohol of your choice.
karen2cruz Posted August 17, 2007 #6 Share Posted August 17, 2007 Agree with you Markandrews- no one does suites better than NCL. Was very disappointed in RCCL's suite extras- which was basically access to the concierge lounge and some priority things (like priority tickets to the ice skating show of the voyager class)
cruisebum50 Posted August 17, 2007 #7 Share Posted August 17, 2007 Just remembered another perk (in the owner's suite). Preferred seating in the shows at night. We would meet the conceirge at the entrance and he would escort us to our seats.
Markandrews Posted August 17, 2007 #8 Share Posted August 17, 2007 Just remembered another perk (in the owner's suite). Preferred seating in the shows at night. We would meet the conceirge at the entrance and he would escort us to our seats. This is a great perk. Walk in to the show 1 minute before it starts and have a pretty good seat waiting for you. I have never seen the section completely full and the conceirge usually monitors the section.
PoseidonGodoftheSea Posted August 17, 2007 Author #9 Share Posted August 17, 2007 That is a great link Karen, thank you for posting it. And thanks for the info that everybody provided, it's been very helpful. In answer to the one posters question, I was thinking about the Pearl at the Penthouse level. LilRhody Posted August 17, 2007 #10 Share Posted August 17, 2007 Sorry to hijack your thread, but I was wondering whether the suite perks are sufficient to make a suite worth paying almost twice as much for as you'd pay for a balcony room? My husband really wants a suite for our next cruise (just the two of us), but I'm not convinced it's worth the $$.
llachance Posted August 17, 2007 #11 Share Posted August 17, 2007 penthouse suite on the Sun for next March. We have sailed most of the major lines but have never done something that seems as nice as this. When I showed my husband the cabin that I originally booked he asked me why it wasn't the aft cabin that I had told him I wanted to try sometime so I went ahead and upgraded (original reservation was in a mini-suite). We had an SS on HAL which gave us a larger room, whirlpool tub and engraved stationary. I am hoping that NCL lives up to my expectations :)

My husband really wants a suite for our next cruise (just the two of us), but I'm not convinced it's worth the $$. The suite is great if... You know you will use the butler alot (like full breakfast on the balcony every morning, dinner from a specialty restaurant on your balcony, tender port and you need the priority tender tickets, etc.) Alternate choice would be to book a minisuite and HOPE for an upsell to a suite, which could potentially happen and be much cheaper than booking the suite outright. It does happen, but you need a good TA to be on top of this and any price drops.
swifs Posted August 17, 2007 #13 Share Posted August 17, 2007 The value of the concierge service can't be underestimated. As a Romance Suite passenger on POH we were allowed to sign up for all our specialty restaurants at once, on the first day. However, as the week progressed we needed to rearrange things and our concierge Erik, was able to do this for us. We tried calling one of the restaurants directly and they said they had no room so we called him and found that he had the power to override anything that the restaurants claimed was full. We decided to have breakfast in our room to avoid overindulging at the breakfast buffet. Our butler brought our breakfast every day. We were entitled to the specialty balcony for the shows although noone met us there- once we were told where to go, we just went there every night. We were entitled to special priority Tender Tickets for KONA, our only tender port. Other passengers had to wait on line to get them at the excursion desk. We were entitled to special disembarkation tickets on the last day with a special area for our luggage. Our room was stocked with coffee and bottled water and wine and regular glasses and bottle openers. That's all I can add from the previous posts. I don't remember any engraved stationary but it might have been there ... kj
llachance Posted August 17, 2007 #15 Share Posted August 17, 2007 9276. The engraved stationary was on HAL. We have never sailed NCL before. My mother has (all NCLA) and has nothing but good reviews. We are also traveling with some friends that we met this summer on the Dawn Princess and are looking forward to hooking up with them again. karen2cruz Posted August 17, 2007 #16 Share Posted August 17, 2007 SWIFS- thanks for the good review of the concierge on POH- there hadnt been alot of good reviews of this particular concierge. We are also in the romance suite for our upcoming POH cruise, while our "kids" (23,21,16) share a mini suite - hehe. Looking forward to it. They're close but not too close.
