Formal Nights

hello friends me and my wife are going on an

8 Day Western Caribbean from Fort Lauderdale, FL on 9/1/2007

 

i was wondering how many formal nights we will have

 

this is my first post on this wonderful site. and i want to thank the folks who run it. its a great site

Which line are you cruising on? Princess will have one formal night on the 2 -6 day cruises, 2 for the 7-13 days, 3 for 14-20, 4 for 21-28 days and a minimum for 5 for anything over 29 days. This is more a a general guideline as we had a 10 day cruise earlier this month and there were 3 formal nights.

 

I would post this on the cruise line board and see if anyone knows.

Welcome to Cruise Critic! Im sailing that same ship but at the end of Sep. There are 2 formal nights.

datonamanmike, Welcome! You'll find lots of useful info here.

 

Note that just because there are 2 formal nights doesn't mean you have to pack 2 complete sets of formal gear. Mix & match, or creative re-use, is the way to go.

 

For you, the same suit for both nights will be fine; pack 2 ties, and you're in business.

 

For your wife, a formal black skirt and two different tops will work well. Or she could do what I did: I wore the SAME black dress on both formal nights :eek: , but took 2 different sets of accessories (shawls, jewelry). Either no one noticed, or no one cared!
