pezgirl43 Posted August 20, 2007 #1 Share Posted August 20, 2007 Hi all! We are considering a cruise departing from Fort Lauderdale for Spring Vacation. We would arrive a day early and need a reasonable hotel near the airport. Any suggestions? Also, what is the best way to get to the ships from the airport or hotel? Thanks for your help! cot427 Posted August 20, 2007 #2 Share Posted August 20, 2007 Try the East Coast Departure Boards. There are a lot of recommendation about hotels in that area. If you are looking for something cheap, try the Sleep Inn or La Quinta. There is also a Embassy Suites Hotel, Hampton Inn, and more.
RogerandChris Posted August 20, 2007 #3 Share Posted August 20, 2007 If you figure in what transportation costs are it will kick you up a bit in motel. Go for Free Pickup from airport, breakfast and shuttle to port and you're talking several bucks. Also look for walking shopping. One place has a strip mall with a walgreens so you can pick up odds & ends. I'm not interseted in great meals, I'll get them on board!. Report back on what you find out.:)
Globaliser Posted August 21, 2007 #4 Share Posted August 21, 2007 Hotel recommendation, if you're allergic to chain hotels: The Riverside Hotel on Las Olas Boulevard. Good hotel in a great location, and it has an interesting restaurant called Indigo. It's only a few dollars by cab to Port Everglades.

Best book something before September 15. Once colleges get into full swing in the fall, college students start making plans and booking rooms for Spring Break. The prices for hotel rooms go nowhere but up.
