sound machines

I am interested in buying a sound machine to take on the cruise (Panama Canal) and wondered if there is one that is better (lighter?) or are they all about the same. I have a tough time sleeping when it's really quiet and need something that will help with that. Thanks in advance.:)

I take a fan, I usually just carry it in the box. You can do either a carry on or use it as a piece of luggage. I usually get a small or med size box fan and make sure it is one that makes enough noise. I usually spend about 10 dollars. If you are going out of FLL or MIA you can stop at a store and grab one there. Either way, I take it and If I don't feel like lugging it back, I just leave it!!! Well worth the 10 bucks!!!! It really drowns out the noise and also helps if the a/c has any problems!!!!!

Wal-mart carries a Homedics that is very good and under $20. It can be used with batteries as well as plugged in. It is fairly light although I usually just put it in my checked luggage. I won't travel without one!
