New Geezer Posted August 24, 2007 #1 Share Posted August 24, 2007 We will be doing a 3-day post-cruise in London. I have mobility issues and usually get about with a power scooter, but do not want to transport mine from home (intermittent mechanical problem). I know London has a good rep. for accessibility. BUT ARE THERE LONDON COMPANIES THAT WILL RENT A POWER SCOOTER FOR A FEW DAYS? It will make a big difference as my DW cannot push me in a wheelchair. Thanks. haggis Posted August 24, 2007 #2 Share Posted August 24, 2007 I've had a look in our Yellow Pages (trade directory) and there are a few listed. I take it you will be staying in Central London so I'll give you the 3 nearest. However, I'm sure someone has made use of this service on these boards and may well have a better deal. The three I've got are Directmobility, 201A Bury st, N9. (Edmonton) Advertise all equipment delivered and collected. Short term hire available. Phone 0845 803 1504 e-mail www.directmobility.co.uk Movability, Kingston upon Thames Phone 0845 832 7576 e-mail www.movability.com They dont mention whether or not they deliver/collect AA Mobility, Twickenham Phone 0845 239 9951 e-mail www.aamobility.co.uk Again no mention of delivery/collection. The 0845 number is a cheap rate call in the UK. An e-mail would be the easiest/cheapest way to contact any of them. As I said, someone out there I'm sure has made use of this service and hopefully will see this thread. As you say, London certainly is scooter friendly with provision for them in all public places. Have a great cruise, Jimmy
