Melba1024 Posted August 31, 2007 #1 Share Posted August 31, 2007 I am thinking about booking a 4 night cruise on the Majesty of the Seas in October. My question is, how is the atmosphere on the shorter cruises with Royal?? Last year, I went on a Carnival 3 night cruise, and it definitely was a party ship... filled with alot of young college-aged kids. When I went last year, it was around Presidents day (so I know school is out)... but is Royal similar as to the shorter sailings attraching more of a young "party crowd"?? I would be going with my mom in October and I would say that neither one of us would be interested in a "spring break" type feel to our 4 night cruise. Any help would be great!! Thanks! PHXscuba Posted August 31, 2007 #2 Share Posted August 31, 2007 We went on the Majesty 4-night the end of April (DH and I, non-party types) and I didn't feel the spring-break type atmosphere. I'm sure it was wilder later at night and in certain bars, but we never felt surrounded or inconvenienced. I think October is more of an off-season time for college break. Plus, you have to take a whole week off of work or school to go on a 4-night cruise Monday-Friday. I don't know if you are considering this October or looking ahead to 2008, but RCI is running some deals this weekend for this fall. Try this link: http://www.royalcaribbean.com/dealsa...equestor =arn Someone posted this on another thread from an email they got. Good luck! We had a great time on Majesty. It's been refurbished beautifully and CocoCay is gorgeous. PHXscuba "You can't have everything -- besides, where would you put it all?":D
mommabean Posted August 31, 2007 #3 Share Posted August 31, 2007 We were on the Majesty this year over President's Day weekend for the 3 night cruise. It was fun, under control and as a group of 4 adults we didn't feel like there was an overly party like atmosphere. It was actually quite fun, the casino was full and lively at night. There were no crazies or drunks. No unruly kids. The ship was newly refurbished, the crew was upbeat. I love doing those short Majesty cruises and have done so 3 times already without a problem. She seems like new, has a great layout, and plenty of meal venue options, too. You'll love this ship. Photos of this cruise are in my signature. MattInFLL Posted September 1, 2007 #5 Share Posted September 1, 2007 Except during school holidays/breaks, the 4 day mid week cruise (on any ship that runs that type of schedule) is always the quieter cruise... the 3 day weekend portion is more parrr-tay for obvious reasons: lower prices, good gambling (ship and ports), weekend away... firefly333 Posted September 1, 2007 #6 Share Posted September 1, 2007 Iv heard the 3 nighters on RCI have more of a party athmospere than the 4 days, because the 3 days are over a weekend and so you get more partiers. Ill let you know, Im doing both in less than a month.
cruisin4kicks Posted September 1, 2007 #7 Share Posted September 1, 2007 We've been on all three of the Sovereign class short cruise ships. 3 night Monarch was wild... stopping in Ensenada around Cinco de Mayo might have explained that; 3 night Sovereign was very low key; 4 night Majesty was very similar to a 7 night RCI cruise. Would not hesitate to go on any of the three again. Tim
danajjj Posted September 1, 2007 #8 Share Posted September 1, 2007 We did a 3nt (weekend) on the Majesty the beginning of Aug. It did not feel like a party ship at all. It was fun and upbeat. We are more of the non-party type of people too, and we loved this ship for a little getaway.
Leeser416 Posted September 2, 2007 #9 Share Posted September 2, 2007 Just off the Majesty 4 night yesterday. The atmosphere was definately not too party...there were actually very few children on board and the ones that were on were really well behaved. Lots of big groups of people but it was a nice getaway. Go for it!!!
