Cash question

I would like to use cash on the cruise I'm taking in a few weeks. I just don't want to come home to credit card bills. Everything else is paid for & we have some gift money at the house I want to use. Questions:

1. How do I go about putting the cash on my Seapass?

2. Can I back up the cash with the credit card (in case we spend more than we bring)?

3. If I don't use all the cash, can I withdraw it at the casino the night before disembarking & then use the credit card for purchases after I withdraw the cash?

Thanks!

Go to guest relations when you board... they will put whatever you want on your account. We have done this... and backed it up with a cc. I usually withdraw my extra cash the last day (early in the day) and let the final day's charges be charged to my cc. I do all transactions at the guest relations desk but, yes, I think you can withdraw at the casino too. (But I am not sure about that).

I always back mine with a CC so that I can withdraw any extra cash and not wait in the huge lines the night before you leave for the "cash only" accounts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi,

You should have no problem. When you complete the precruise data, notethat you have opted for a cash basis for your on-board charges. After you board you must go to guest relations, and deposit the amount of cash you want to use. If and when you get close to that amount in charges the purser will notify you, and you will then return to guest relations to swipe your credit card. You can then get cash againstyour credit card at the casino.

Just be mindful of the fact that the last day can be a nightmare at guest relations with a long line of people trying to settle, ask about discrepancies etc. You don't want your last day to undo all that relaxation :)

I give a CC at the beginning, and often go to guest relations the first day and put cash on my account. You can always check up on your bill during the week... and doesn't RCI allow you to see your bill on your TV?

Anyway, by the second to last day you should have a good idea of where you are, and either add cash, or leave the minimal remainder on your card...

It depends on the ship.

Freedom, Voyager and Radiance class ships - YES.

Vision, Sovereign and Empress "class" ships - NO.

What if i dont spend it all. Do they cut you a check that you can cash at the pursers desk. Or do I have to get it back myself the last night?

I have never sailed on RCI only ccl, they put a check either under your door or in the mailbox by your door.
