Juneau - Some Additional Ideas?

We will be in Juneau from 8:00am until 10:00pm. We have booked Whale Watching with Capt. Larry from 11:30-3:30, but need some additional ideas for the remainder of the day. Not too hot on shopping but will want to spend an hour or so. We have done gold panning before - so looking to expand our horizons and do something we haven't done before. Would appreciate any ideas you might have!

The top trip is a glacier helicopter landing. You can do a combo trip with Orca Enterprises. But look over a shore excursion list and narrow down your interests. There are just too many great tours.

You might want to rent a car and drive around? You can drive out to the Valley and stop at some beaches or the Shrine of St. Theresa or go over to Douglas and check it out. Driveing in Juneau is always beautiful and relaxing.

If you decide to wait until you get there and it's sunny you could take Mt Roberts tram up and take one of the paths down.. awesome view.. Gold Creek salmon bake (ribs for those who don't eat fish), the "trolley" to see some of the sights, or a glacier flightseeing that you can coordinate with Capt. Larry.
