The weather will be perfect expect air temps to range 80 - 85 F and water temps will be about the same depending on where you are at, generally they will range between 75 - 80 F.

What is the weather like in January?

Also the water temperature?

I don't want to spend a lot of money for snorkeling and beach excursions

if it's going to be too cool.

December/January are our very best time of year, climatically!

I live in these islands and I live for Nov/Dec/Jan/Feb

when things finally cool down to tolerable levels!:)

- but are still plenty warm

Easy to tell you've never been to the Caribbean...but we still love ya!

Expect things temperature-wise

-and socially/culturally!-

to be significantly different/warmer to your (Minnesota??) situation!! :D

Stop worrying, just pack that swimsuit and board the ship!

Does this picture look cold to you?

This is YOU having lunch at Art's Lobster place

on Carlisle Bay, BARBADOS.

How would I get to Art's Lobster? Taxi, bus?
Lobster Alive is almost right next door to Boatyard

which is a famous beach-club place for day-cruisers.

yes, taxi would be it - from the Port

unless you're already in the shopping area of Bridgetown

(Broad Street, our main shopping 'drag')

in which case you might easily walk there

- over the bridge at the top of the street, towards the arch

and ask the locals for directions from there

- it's only another 300 yds. or so

Look for Boatyard's brightly painted front wall,

and go another 30 yds. or so, just past Boatyard...

right where the view opens out to the beach, and you are there!

see the pics!

That big blue sign,below.. is what you're lookin for, out on the street.

go to URL..

http://www.angelfire.com/wizard2/cncisland/bigships/Cbay2.html

and see what the beach scenery is like, right in front of Lobster Alive!

Taxi fare from Port to Lobster Alive/Boatyard should be around U.S.$ 5.
