Trip Insurance Ref if Itinerary Cancellation?

Just wondering

 

was getting ready to buy TI (1/2 the cost thru CSA vs Carnival) both offer pre-existing waiver before final payment.

 

Q: what happens if Carnival announces intinerary change & we decide to cancel within the 24 hour period after final payment date?

 

CSA states we would receive a "credit" for 12 months for future TI; no refund.

 

Anyone know what Carnival does...hate to call PVP yet again (she sez she's been busy fielding calls from travelers wanting to know their rescheduled ports).
